Custom finishing is useful when buyers want the same base substrate to look different by brand, application or sales channel. Printing, bronzing, dripping, laminating and coating should be discussed together with substrate selection.
A good finishing RFQ includes artwork or pattern direction, color target, substrate type, GSM, width, roll or sheet format, quantity and whether positioning accuracy is required.
Functional surface materials should be described as surface effects or product differentiation options. Avoid performance claims unless the buyer has independent testing and regulatory support.
