GSM should be selected from the product application and converting process, not from price alone. A wipe substrate, hygiene layer and packaging fabric may all use nonwoven material, but their strength, softness, absorption and machine tension requirements are different.
For baby wipes and makeup remover wipes, buyers usually start with a softer substrate direction and confirm hand-feel, liquid absorption and lint level by sample. For industrial wipes, tensile strength and durability usually matter more than the softest touch.
A practical RFQ should include application, target GSM, width, texture, roll or sheet format, quantity and destination port. If GSM is uncertain, send the product application first and ask for two or three sample directions.
