Hydrophilic treatment helps liquid spread or pass through the nonwoven surface. It is often discussed for hygiene layers, wipes and applications where absorption or liquid transfer matters.
Hydrophobic treatment is used when the buyer wants the material to resist liquid penetration or keep a drier surface direction. It is commonly discussed for barrier layers, covers and some packaging applications.
Treatment choice should be tested with the actual converting process and target application. Send target liquid behavior, test method, GSM, width and application with your RFQ.
