SMS combines spunbond and meltblown layers. Buyers usually choose this option when they need a balance of strength, barrier direction and converting stability. SMMS adds another meltblown layer for projects that require a higher barrier direction.
The buying risk is vague barrier wording. A useful RFQ should state the end use, target GSM, width, treatment direction and any test standard requested by the buyer or destination market.
For barrier-related materials, sample confirmation should come before bulk pricing. Test results, packaging format and converting conditions can change the final specification.
